Limits
The letter binds the person who signed, to the extent of the words, and only as a statement or a permission. It does not cancel a statute, a building rule, or a court case. There is no fixed validity period unless the letter states one. The receiving office can still reject it. Withdrawing a no-objection later is a fresh letter, and it may come too late if the passport or the tenancy has already been granted.
